A 23 year old man has been arraigned in court for allegedly daring to beat and throw out his aunt.

Ian Mutunga (pictured) is facing creating disturbance charge after he allegedly threatened to stab his aunt Beatrice Ndunge on October 2.

Police said the complainant arrived home to find his aunt who had come to visit. It was then that he accused her of keeping demonic cats - and demanded that she leave his father’s house.

The accused is said to have been warned to respect her aunt, but he started chasing his aunt’s cats - which she had tagged along claiming they were demonic.

Police said the suspect reached for a knife and attempted to stab his aunt claiming she and her pets had brought bad omen to the compound.

The circus attracted neighbours who later restrained and handed the accused to authorities.

In court, the accused denied the charge and was set free on Sh5, 000 cash bail. His case was set for hearing on January 14.
