Woman arrested after scalding co-wife with hot soup in Embakasi

A business woman has sued co-wife for allegedly scalding her face with hot soup then running away from the scene.

Catherine Wanjiku Wangui has now been arrested and charged with assaulting co-wife who is now the accused Ann Wambui on 21st June at around 7:30pm around Tassia area.

 Reportedly, the complaint was at her place of work selling groceries in the evening hours when Wanjiku arrived carrying bucket and posed as customer.

 Before the complainant asked what she wanted from her stall, it is claimed that Wanjiku splashed what she was carrying in the bucket that landed on the face of the co-wife leaving her in pain since the contents were hot liquid.

 According to police, Wanjiku fled from the scene after splashing the hot soup on Wambui face but she was rescued and rushed for treatment.

 The complainant was later discharged and she reported the matter to police leading to Wanjiku’s arrest on June 30th.

 Wanjiku however denied the charges leveled against her and was released on Sh20,000 cash bail. The matter will be mentioned on July 16th.
