Two women have been charged with drugging a man and stealing from him.

The suspects identified as Ann Wanza Mutunga and Mary Muthoni Wambui are alleged to have drugged Shadrack Wekesa Watima on   December 26 at Pipeline.

The court also heard that the two stole a laptop, camera and charger all valued at Sh74,000. Police said the stolen items belonged to Wekesa who works at a popular betting firm.

Wanza is also charged with dishonestly retaining the laptop, while Wambui is said to have retained the camera knowing it to have been stolen.

Police said Wekesa and a group of friends met the suspects at a club in the city centre on Christmas Day around 11pm.

The suspects joined the men at their table where they made merry, occasionally taking to the dance floor.

Police said the complainant left the club at 4am in the company of his friends and the suspects who claimed they lived in Syokimau.

They boarded the same taxi, but the journey however ended at the complainant’s house with the women in tow. The complainant is said to have allowed them in his house where they had some more drinks.

The prosecution said that the two women stripped naked and took time to serve the complainant and his friends until they blacked out. It was claimed that Wekesa’s caretaker saw the two women leaving the plot and upon checking, found the complainant and his friends unconscious.

They were rushed to hospital and the two women handed over to police having been found in possession of the stolen items.

Wanza and  Wambui denied charges and were set free on Sh50,000 cash bail each. The matter will be mentioned on January  22.
