Woman steals neighbours baby to please her village hubby that she got him a son
A 26-year-old woman has been accused of stealing a three-year-old boy from her neighbour.
Susan Nyaboke Magangi is said to have committed the offence on April 19 within Embakasi in an attempt to please her husband.
The court heard that she forcibly took the boy from Esther Wanjiru Wambui, the baby’s mother, to convince her husband that she had conceived and even given birth in Nairobi.
Police said the child went missing while playing, prompting a search. The suspect is said to have gone missing at the same time, with calls made to her phone going unanswered.
Wanjiru reported the matter to police who after investigations, found the accused in a remote village in Kisii.
Nyaboke was arrested on June 8 and brought back to Nairobi. She confessed that she had miscarried, but chose to ‘borrow’ the neighbour’s son to please her husband.
Nyaboke denied the charges. The matter will be mentioned on June 28
