A matatu conductor was arraigned in court for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl.

Herman Ngige Mungai is said to have committed the offence on February 13, 2017 at Ngegu village in Kiambu County.

The court heard that Ngige gave the young girl a sweet after realising that her mother had left to fetch water at a nearby river.
