In a year when gospel music in the country seems to be on a low note, Ringtone is racking YouTube numbers with his recent release Walionicheka, a collabo with celebrated gospel star Rose Muhando.

Only a month after the song was released, it has turned a church anthem across the region and garnered over 1.2 million views on YouTube, numbers that only trending Gengetone new-breed artistes can afford.

In fact, the song has the potential of being the biggest gospel single in the region - if it isn’t so yet.

Ringtone who was once ranked as the best gospel singer alongside the likes of Daddy Owen, Bahati and the now secular Willy Paul seems to be the gospel artiste to get his groove back – as others are struggling against the new wave of secular music.

“Some people have been claiming that I haven’t been doing much, musically, but I now think they have their answer. I thank God for the way the song is blessing people and lifting many hearts. You can’t argue with numbers,” Ringtone told Pulse.

Kidis signed to international label

Former Grandpa artiste Kidis has been signed to an international label.

The Kamua Leo crooner has just dropped his first single Amsha Popo under the new management, Smallz Beats Entertainment.

The artiste has been vocal about being mistreated by his former management.

“I like the environment and that the focus is on the product. I know much better now, and I like the deal I have with the new team,” he told Pulse.
