Britain-based comedian Njambi got the shock of her life after Kenyan fans failed to get her jokes and asked her off stage during the International Laugh Festival held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
Not even the intervention by Churchill the host and MC Jessy could save the moment.
She switched from English to Swahili and then to Kikuyu but still, her jokes flew past the audience.
It was an unwelcome surprise for a comedian of her repute, celebrated international comedians with international media heaping praises on her as the 'rib-cracker to watch'.
After she exited the stage, a crestfallen Njambi was near tears as she wondered what had gone so wrong with her set, a homecoming moment that was meant to endorse her as Kenyan’s own.
It was quite the opposite for Uganda’s Salvado who had quite one of the best sails ever with the mammoth crowd laughing at his jokes, from one punch-line to the other.
He used the current local urban lingo like ‘wamnyonyez’ and ‘lamba lolo’ connecting well with the crowd and ‘killing’ the show for over 30 minutes.
