The Band Beca
This is the duo that has the industry excited with their exceptional vocals. Made up of Becky Sangolo and Carol Kamweru, hence the name Beca, the two were classmates at Penya Africa's Sauti Academy.

They would then go on to become one of the most sought after background vocalists until they decided to branch out and hit the road alone.

This birthed a new beginning with their first release titled Toka a dancehall song about men who cheat, dropped in September. And boom they blew up.

It seems they are not yet ready rest on their laurels; they are back with a new video to their Brathe track which was released last month.

Kyki

She is not just any other rapper. She is that underrated lyrical genius from Kenya, or so she describes herself. After Femi One's Pilau Njeri dropped, Kyki decided to have a piece of the pie, although she had not been mentioned in the diss-track, and released Kuku Mwitu.

Her strategy has paid off and all eyes are on the 24-year-old femcee who just recently released Avocado.

Although she hit the music scene with a group of other female artistes in 2015, she remained underground until recently when she did her diss track in October.

Going all out, she throws shade at literally every dominating female rapper and not even male rappers and producers are spared.

Cashy

She would rather live her life away from the public glare but after that nuclear collabo with Khaligraph Jones, her boyfriend, Cashy Karimi is officially a rapper everyone is watching.

Introduced into the game with hit song 'Micasa Sucasa' her chilled style and chemistry with Khaligraph make for an exhilarating experience after the video came out last month.

Young C

Taking over Mombasa like a storm, the young MC is already cashing in on his talents as his services become a sought-after commodity.

A rapper, Young C became popular after his song 'Ma Birthday' hit airwaves receiving massive love from his home town.

Inspired to break the monotony that has become of the birthday song we always sing, he requested his father a producer, to create a new birthday anthem on his seventh birthday.
Born Chasta Njewa, the eight year old who has a long career ahead of him can play the piano and is a motocross champion.

A true entertainer, he works with a group of other young dancers from SOS children's home who perform with him during his shows.

Karwira Laura

Choosing to use her music to win souls for God, 20-year-old Laura hit the music scene with Natamani Nikuone and Mtetezi late last year.

While many still didn't know who she was, it was this year that saw her rise to popularity after she released her album Natamani Nikuone at a star-studded concert held at a local church in August.

At her young age, she also mentors young people to live the Christian way. After her amazing album, so much is expected of the young blogger who always brings the crowd to a standstill with her live performances.

Ivlyn Mutua

If you were carefully watching and following the Coke studios episodes, you have probably seen Ivlyn doing her thing on the mic.

Better believe she was the background vocalist at the Coke studios for big artistes including Trey Songz and 2Face just to name a few.

One of the best vocalists locally, it is not until October when she released the video of her song, Power, that many came to recognize who she was.

Known in the musical scene and more so the gospel fraternity for her powerful vocal range, the 25-year-old is now a certified gospel singer and rapper.

While her video has been receiving good air play on local stations, 2017 will determine how serious she is about being an artiste.
