Jackie Matubia lands new TV job after exiting Switch TV

Ex- Tahidi High actress Jackie Matubia has landed a new job hardly a week after exiting popular Switch TV show, Chatspot.

Taking to Instagram, the elated Jackie announced that she would be hosting her own show dubbed E-zone with Jackie on Rembo TV.

“To all my fans told you I will be back, bigger and better introducing E-zone with Jackie @ezonewithjackie only on Rembo Tv every single day starting this Monday see you guys there, ” she wrote.

According to the show’s promo video, E-zone with Jackie will premier today 27th January 2020 at 4pm and will run throughout the week. The show is purely an entertainment show that will focus mainly on serving its viewers the latest celebrity news.

Sacked and replaced?

Although circumstances surrounding Jackie’s exit from Switch TV are not known, word on the street had it that the actress might be among those let go by the media house.

According to a statement released by Switch TV on January 6, 2019, the organization said it would be making staffing changes in accordance to its 2020 strategy growth that will unfortunately see a number of talents relieved of their duties.

"We will be reviewing the existing programming; cancelling and launching new shows; which may affect some of the existing talent," read part of the email.

Which begs the question; could it be that Jackie was among those individuals laid off?

However it was not lot long after announcing her exit from Chatspot, that Jackie was replaced on the show by Nana Owiti; popular musician King Kaka’s wife who was over the moon on her new job.

Taking to Instagram to announce the news, Nana thanked God for the opportunity and promised her fans nothing but the best.

Nana has been hosting the show alongside Kush Tracey and former KTN presenter Mary Mwikali.
