Selena Gomez has unveiled her newest body art on social media.

The 27-year-old Fetish hit-maker took to Instagram to show off her latest design on Thursday.

In the revealing snap, the name of her album title could be seen etched into her skin.

The pop diva has a catalogue of tattoos which mean something to her and her latest tattoo celebrated her 13-track release.

"Did it again" the singer captioned the video of her latest ink, courtesy of New York tattooist Bang Bang.

Bang Bang has a reputation for tattooing stars from Rihanna to Adele.

This time, Selena got the word "rare" below her right ear to honor her record and the meaning behind it.

"That name was so important to me, the moment I heard it I said that's the name of my album," she told Spotify.

"That to me is such a special word and if there's anything I could do for women and even men it would be to tell them that, that they are valued and that they're rare and that they're important; that's what it means to me."

The talented hit-maker confided in Billboard she was done living her life via other people's rules and she channelled her feelings into her latest album.

"I've said this before, but I used to be terrified of saying anything," she confessed.

"I would find myself protecting people that never protected me or cared for me."

Selena explained how she was paralyzed by fear of saying or doing the wrong thing because of the constant judgement she faces from being in the spotlight.

But at a certain point, the singer realised there was no reason to cater to other people's emotions.

"I was just done; you know?" She said. "Just done being silent, and I felt like I deserved to have a moment for myself, after going through so much, and throwing that all into this album."

The new ink comes days after she debuted her arm tattoo in her Rare music video which commemorates the date she got her kidney transplant from her friend in response to her Lupus diagnosis.

Selena revealed in December her tattoo on her arm was of the date of her transplant surgery.

Both she and her actress friend Francia Raisa got matching tattoos to commemorate their shared experience.

In September 2017, the Good for You singer said she had received a kidney transplant from her friend Raisa following organ damage caused by the autoimmune disease lupus which she battled for several years.

At the time, Selena shared a photo of herself and Raisa holding hands from their hospital beds as well as photos of her stomach following the surgery.

"There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raísa,” Gomez wrote on Instagram.

"She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis."

In an interview on the Today Show in October 2017, the musician added her kidneys “were just done”.

She said: "That was it, and I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life. The thought of asking someone to do that was really difficult for me. She volunteered and did it. And let alone someone wanting to volunteer, it is incredibly difficult to find a match.”

"The fact that she was a match, I mean that’s unbelievable. That’s not real."
