Kenyans from all walks of life have on Friday, January 17 solemnly joined media personality Bernard Ndong in grief following the announcement of his grandmother’s passing.

In a post he shared two hours ago, Ndong mourned his grandmother as an invaluable person whose immense life had been robbed of his family by death.

“When an old person dies, a library burns to the ground. RIP grandma,” stated the talented Citizen TV journalist.

“Pole nding ndong wangu,” grieved colleague Lulu Hassan while Papa Shirandula star Jacky Vike alias Awinja added “Poleni sana Ndong”.

Njeri Kagwi was not left behind either and shared, “Pole sana. May God comfort you and your family.”

A message underscored by many others including @houseofstl who noted: “Sorry for your loss. May God give you and your family strength through this period.”

Quoting Elizabeth Kubler Ross in 2016 as he eulogized his father - Raymond Oloo Ndong, the journalist noted that there was no getting over the death of a loved one.

“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same nor would you want to,” he underscored at the time.
