Socialite Vera Sidika has for the first time unveiled the faces her immediate family after hiding them for years.

Taking to social media to wish her father a happy birthday on January 6, Vera could not hide her joy as she let the world in on the auspicious moment.

In a series of posts on her Instastories, Sidika documented the birthday celebrations with one clip capturing her father in a jovial mood with a surprise Manchester United themed cake.

“I’m a daddy’s girl…Happy birthday, dad. I love you,” she shared, “this is his favourite team so I hope he likes”.

“Thank you, daughter,” he said in what appeared to be a stately abode.

In 2019, the businesswoman was hard-pressed to ‘explain’ why she was hiding her family after some of her followers demanded answers. “You don’t post your mom or dad do you really love them?” Asked one curious fan.

“Oh yes (I love them). So damn much. Top 5 WhatsApp chats and call log is mom, dad, bros manager, P.A. Top 5 mobile and internet banking transfers list is my family!

“I just don’t post them to protect them from pathetic comments. Y’all can attack me but won’t let ya’ll attack my family for real,” she wrote explaining her decision to keep her family away from social media.

Months earlier, she shared a photo of what she claimed was of her birth certificate after a tweet claiming that her real name was Shikuku Shikwekwe went viral.

“Jacob Otieno Obunga (Otile Brown) and Veronica Mung’asia Shikuku Shikwekwe (Vera Sidika) hamtatusumbua huku online sai****n,” it read in part.

But according to Sidika, the post was further from the truth.

“If y’all must fake my names at least have your facts right… I have such a fancy name that people find it hard to believe it’s my real name. Vera Sidika. My parents knew I was gonna a star. Real names sounding like a stage name. Being born at Agha Khan Hospital in 1989 was a big deal yooo! It was more like a ‘baller baby’ those days,” she wrote.
