Christmas, arguably the year’s most-anticipated holiday came and went. With the harsh economic times faced by many Kenyans, a big based in urban centres opted not to travel upcountry for the festivities.
Celebrities and politicians marked the day in various ways, with some just chilling with family as others sought to give back to the less fortunate.
Check out how the celebrations went down:
The Nairobi County woman representative marked Christmas by visiting the aged at Nyumba ya Wazee in Kasarani!
In photos that elicited many reactions from Kenya, Passaris was seen serving the aged beer, writing “1 Timothy 5:23 ‘No longer drink water exclusively, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments’."
Passaris’ visits did not stop there as the mother of two also paid a visit to the The Spinal Injuries Hospital, unorthodoxly taking junk food for the patients.
“Most hospitals do not allow junk food, which is exactly why I wanted all patients and staff on duty at The Spinal Injuries Hospital to indulge in some crispy fried chicken, chips and soda in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas!” she wrote.
Outspoken Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on the other hand took time off for a holiday with his family.
Kuria shared photos of his wife and kids at the Universal Studios in Hollywood, USA with the message “from myself and family, Merry Christmas to all of you and your families. May the love of Christ the new-born king shelter our families and unite our great nation Kenya.”
The fashion blogger and Ciroc brand ambassador took a breather, travelling to her upcountry home in Chuka, Meru County.
The beauty seemed to naturally fuse into the village life, sharing several snaps from her holiday.
In one photo, Kendi is seen posing with a goat’s kid and making it look cool, as only she could.

Based in Finland, the former ‘Mother-In-Law’ actor spent Christmas with his wife and two daughters.
“Merry Christmas from us…enjoy guys,” he captioned and adorable photo of his family.
The Juventus forward spent his Christmas Day by hitting the beach with his children and WAG Georgina Rodriguez.
Ronaldo was in Saudi Arabia at the weekend for the Italian Super Cup and has remained in warm climates for the festive season.
He was joined by children Cristiano Jr, Eva, Mateo and Alana Martina - and there was even a special appearance from Santa in the heart-warming snap.
Ronaldo shared a messaged with his 194 million Instagram followers writing, "We wish a Merry Christmas to everyone."
