Kanye West has always been a leader and not a follower when it comes to fashion, but his latest line has sent the internet into a frenzy.

The rapper turned designer, 42, is bringing out shoes called the Yeezy Foam Runners, which look vaguely like his trainers but made of foam and with loads of holes in.

And the quirky shoes have quickly drawn comparisons to the most divisive shoes of all time - Crocs.

The launch was announced on the Yeezy Mafia Twitter account with a picture of two models wearing the shoes on the back of a motorbike.

The account wrote: "YEEZY FOAM RUNNER LANDING IN 2020."

And the post instantly went viral, with hundreds of Twitter users mocking the shoes.

One tweeted: "I'd rather eat a pineapple pizza with a side of raisins than wear these."

"No one. Seriously NO ONE asked for Yeezy Crocs," another posted.

A third said: "Kanye: You know what’d be dope? We take Crocs. Aight. And we turn them into Yeezy's...And then we sell ‘em for $300."

"Kanye's making Yeezy Crocs now. Take me now Jeeeeesus," another agreed.

A fifth commented: "I can’t wait to be able to walk around in public in my regular $19.99 crocs and point and laugh at everyone wearing $399.99 Yeezy-Crocs."

Earlier this year there were huge queues across the country as fans tried to buy pairs of Adidas's Yeezy Boost 350 v2.

In Birmingham demand for the £180 trainers saw long lines of people building from midnight the night before.

Within hours the shoes were selling for 13 times the price online.
