Police have confiscated more than 300kg of meat suspected of being contaminated.

The meat, stored in two freezers, had been hidden in a house in Asian Quarters.

“The beef was uninspected and unfit for human consumption.

We suspect it is from a stolen cow because (the person in whose house it was found) is not licensed to deal with meat,” said Nyeri County police Commander Adiel Nyange.

He said the suspect supplied the meat from his house.

“We had arrested the suspect two months ago over a similar offence but he was released on Sh100,000 bond,” he said.
