This is the heart-stopping moment a quick-witted mum saves her son from falling off a fourth-floor balcony with her incredible reflexes.
CCTV footage from a reception area at a construction company 'Monserrate' shows the mother and her toddler son walking out of an elevator along, with a delivery man.
As the mum waits for someone to open a door, the curious toddler can be seen walking over to the railings of the staircase and appears to put his hands on what he thinks is a panel of glass.
He then crouches down and leans forward, only to realise that the railing is completely empty.
The boy then loses his balance and falls through the space.
His mum, who appears to be on her phone a few steps away, bolts into action and throws herself over the edge of the railing to grab her son.
The delivery man quickly runs to the floor below hoping to rescue the boy.
Employees from the construction company immediately rush to help after they realise what has happened.
Luckily, the mother managed to hold onto her son's feet and was able to bring him back to safety.
The incident happened on Wednesday in the Laureles Colonial building in Medellin, Colombia, the El Espectador reports.
It's unclear whether the boy had sustained any injuries from the near-fatal misstep.
Some users praised the mother's incredible reflexes as she managed to jump into action within seconds.
One wrote: "She didn't even drop her phone..."
But some others criticised the mother for being careless and blamed her distraction as the cause of the incident.
Some argued that the railings were not qualified for safety standards.
