A man killed his wife at their home in Karandi village, Laikipia West, following a dispute.
The man is said to have killed the 28-year-old woman on Tuesday at around 4pm as she prepared food.
The woman was hit with a wooden object.
She collapsed and died on the spot. Kiambogo location chief Philip Korir and the suspect's relative said the couple had been quarrelling for a long time.
“They have been quarreling over small things. We were shocked that what we thought were minor problems has now led to the death of the mother of two,” said the relative.
The chief said the suspect was arrested by the members of the public as he fled.
“They found him running away with a rope which we suspect he wanted to commit suicide with,” said Mr Korir.
The suspect is being held at Nyahururu Police Station.
