Ex Kamiti convict murders wife’s 2-year-old son soon after leaving prison

Chelule suspected that the two-year-old was the product of an extra-marital affair his wife had while he was in jail.

An ex-convict has been arrested by police after allegedly killing his wife’s two-year-old son just two months after release from prison.

40-year-old David Chelule from Bomet County is alleged to have hacked the boy to death with a panga at their home in Sotik Sub-County.

The mother, 35, was not home at the time of the incident.

According to Citizen Digital, the suspect had served a five-year jail term at the Kamiti Maximum Prison after being found guilty of trying to kill his nephew.

Extramarital affair?

According to sources, the couple who have been married for over ten years had a daughter before the man was jailed.

Upon his release, Chelule suspected that the two-year-old was the product of an extra-marital affair his wife had while he was in jail.

Sotik Sub-county Deputy Police Commander Francis Ng’ang’a said that the suspect is being held at the Sotik Police Station pending arraignment in court.
