Ask for forgiveness: City preacher to Ruto after Aisha Jumwa’s praise song

Pastor Godfrey Migwi.

Outspoken city preacher Godfrey Migwi has castigated Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa for turning a Christian hymn into a praise song for DP William Ruto.

Speaking at a church function over the weekend, Jumwa gave the popular Swahili song ‘Hakuna wa kufanana’ a rendition saying, ‘Hakuna wa kufafana na Ruto’.

Responding to Jumwa’s actions that have sparked countrywide debate, Migwi urged the DP to advise his supporters to stop praising him like God.

“Stop them from praising you like God, the types of Aisha’s have gone too far, they must separate politics with blasphemous act. Why did you allow Aisha to praise you like God as worshipers and church leaders cheered in your presence?” posed the House of Hope Church founder.

Migwi further alluded to Bible’s account of King Herod.

DP Ruto and Aisha Jumwa.

“Read this verse in the Bible Acts 12:21-23: And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, it is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.”

Seek forgiveness

“No matter the 2022 politics, politicians come and go, big leaders come and fade away. So, hakuna wa kufanana na Yesu liwe liwalo , hawa wengine ni binadamu tu wasifiwe lakini si kutumia nyimbo za kuabudu.

“It’s good for you to apologize to the body of Christ and you repent for your life, peace, and political journey’s sake,” concluded Migwi.
