Keen Kenyans on social media had noticed the absence of the President over the past two weeks and demanded to know his whereabouts.
President Uhuru Kenyatta was last spotted on the news when he took a trip to China with opposition leader Raila Odinga to meet the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.
Since his return on April 23, 2019, the president has stayed away from the limelight, which Kenyans feel is unusual of him.
State House has however come forward to clarify that the President is well and going about his presidential duties as usual.
Responding to Kenyans, State House spokesperson, Kanze Dena expressed her shock in a tweet assuring Kenyans that Mr. President is around.
"The President is around, it doesn't mean that because he is not seen in public he is not there, he has an office where he goes every day and he is working on several things," Kanze said.
Kanze apologized for not being as active as she ought to be as the State House’s spokesperson, promising constant communication with the media.
"I agree that the communication from my side as the State House Spokesperson has had a setback, and I accept that a mistake was made, but I am focused and will make things right as well as share information more frequently with the media and the public"
On the other hand, his deputy William Ruto has been quite busy with daily appearances on various public functions.
