A seven-month-old baby was on Saturday, May 4, found suckling her deceased mother in Namanga, Kajiado County.

This is after the baby’s father Samuel Gitonga allegedly went on the rampage after busting his wife with another man at his Maili Tisa home.

According to the police, Gitonga found his wife in bed with a man only identified as Mutuku - a charcoal seller - at 2 am.

Gitonga is said to have grabbed a knife and stabbed Mutuku multiple times before strangling his wife to death. He then dragged the man's body to the roadside before going into hiding.

Neighbours found the couple’s seven-month-old baby suckling.

“Mtoto wa miezi saba hivi tulikuta akiwa katika maziwa ya mama yake akinyonya hali mama amekufa” said a neighbour.

Another told Citizen TV, “Nilikuta huyu alikua amelalia mama yake. Na mama yake ni kama shingo ilikua imepinduliwa hivi halafu ikainamishwa kichwa hapo. Mimi ndio nikatoa hawa watoto na nikatoka na wao. ”

The bodies of the two were taken to Kajiado County Referral Hospital mortuary while the baby and her two other siblings were accommodated by neighbours as their kin are traced.

Gitonga and his wife reportedly moved into the locality five years ago.
