University students arrested with bhang taped to their bodies

One of the students nabbed with narcotics taped to his body.

Two university students were arrested on Saturday for being in possession of narcotic drugs.

The two, Chris Duma Odhiambo, 22, and Raymond Mwilo, 20, had strapped the drugs onto their bodies using tape in a bid to conceal them.

According to reports, the duo were arrested at a roadblock in Marsabit County as they were trying to board a bus headed for Nairobi.

They are expected to be arraigned in court today.

Earlier that day, police had seized marijuana worth millions of shillings along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway at Delamere after a vehicle ferrying the drugs was involved in an accident.

Police, who went to rescue the seriously injured motorist, were shocked to find the haul stashed in the personal car.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and put under police watch as he recuperates in hospital while a second suspect escaped.
