Fundraiser for GSU officer killed in Dusit attack announced

The family of a General Service Unit (GSU) officer killed during the recent terrorist attack at 14 Riverside Drive has appealed for contributions towards his burial.

Japhet Ndunguja Nuru who was attached to the GSU headquarters in Ruaraka passed away on 16 January after being shot dead by the attackers.

Through an obituary in the dailies, the 28-year-old’s family revealed that they are set to hold a fundraiser on 23 January before his burial in Taita Taveta County three days later.

“Meetings for funeral arrangements will take place today 22/1/2019 at Kindergarten hall and Wednesday 23/1/2019 at A.C.K hall, All Saints Cathedral starting from 5:00pm” the notice read.

Contributions can also be channelled via Mpesa Paybill number 566010, account number Japhet Funeral Fund.  

On Friday, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i met Nuru’s parents after visiting GSU officers in Ruaraka to thank them for their quick response.
