Milele FM presenter and funnyman Felix Odiwour popularly known as Jalang’o yesterday launched a scathing attack on Kenya afro-pop band Sauti Sol’s members Bien-Aime Baraza and Savara Mudigi amid raging #PlayKenyanMusic debate.

The two had joined the debate on their personal accounts to push through #PlayKenyanMusic as the case with other local artists.

However, their sentiments appeared to draw in criticism from the comedian, who alleged that it was ironical for them to delve individually into the debate yet they had failed on their roles.

“You are a big letdown in this industry! Because you are liars and you don't want to tell other artists the truth! You've refused to share the secret to your success, you want to be at the top alone!

“You have totally refused to mentor and play the big role that has been bestowed to you. You can't be legends, upcoming and hottest at the same time!” he ranted.

He dared the group to single out and lift budding artists who are still struggling to click as is the case with their Tanzanian counterparts.

“So Sauti Sol if you really believe in Kenya artists just take two and push them and be the big brother's that you are! See what Diamond is doing with Mboso and Lava Lava? See what Harmonize and Rayvanny have become?” he wrote.

His Instagram tirade comes at a time when there is heated debate on why Kenyan music has continued to be snubbed by local media houses despite persistent calls to promote local talent.

However, radio presenters have maintained that they have no say on what music is played on radio and challenged the artists to produce quality music if they are to score any chance.
