Radio personality Jackie Nyaminde popularly known as Wilbroda has torn into Wasafi Records saying they are overrated and give their own people a raw deal.

Appearing to echo comments made earlier by celebrities in Kenya over a shaky performance by the crew during the new year party, Wilbroda said the record seems to have run out of tricks to impress and are in comfort zone.

“I think they are overrated. I feel very sorry for Tanzanians. This is because they came here and they didn’t impress so in Tanzania they give their people a very raw deal,” she fired during her show in Milele FM.

The presenter rated Kenya Afro Pop group Sauti Sol’s recent performance in Tanzania as way above average arguing they impressed with a live band performance as opposed to playbacks and singalongs the Tanzanians relied on their New Year show in Kenya.

“When Sauti Sol went to Tanzania last month, they have a live performance. They performed with a live band, there was no playback or speaking in between the performances, no hype men. It was Sauti Sol for 2-3 hours, Tanzanians really enjoyed that show.

“I don’t think they get that kind of performances from Wasafi guys. I think they have started relaxing because they know that they are Wasafi. Kenyans are not like Tanzanian, a Kenyan will tell you ‘By the way umeniwaste,” she explained.

Her sentiments come barely a month after Kenyans social media users trooped to social media to complain about below average performance staged by the crew on New Year.

Diamond Platnumz, Harmonize, Rayvanny, Mbosso, Lava Lava and Queen Darlene are among the top Wasafi names that entertained Kenyans during Wasafi Festival at Uhuru Gardens.
