A Rift Valley MP risks being kicked out from a house in a leafy city suburb for failing to pay rent arrears.

The MP- who led a flamboyant lifestyle during the last parliament - owes his landlord a total of Sh200, 000, which he accumulated in two months.

For the two months, the lawmaker - whose house rent is Sh420, 000 a month - has been paying Sh320, 000 promising to settle the balance later.

The politician has not set foot in his constituency because of the hostility he faces due to his utterances, a situation that has forced him to address issues from a neighbouring County.

PR staff say ministers have hired their cronies

Some staff in the department of public relations in various ministries are increasingly getting frustrated by their bosses.

Some workers claim they have been side-lined by Cabinet Secretaries who brought in their preferred people to take over their jobs.

Newly appointed CS’s are said to be notorious ones as most of them after assuming office installed their cronies to be their media fixers.

Sources confided to The Grapevine that a majority of ministers who had stints in the political world also resorted to gift their campaign managers the plum responsibilities in communication dockets, regardless of their qualification.

The development has sparked internal wars, with the two teams trying to outdo each other and at times leading to the CSs giving contradictory information to the public.
