Kenyan songbird Akothee has slammed her friends for failing to support her daughter Dion Akello, better known as Rue Baby.

Through a post on social media, the singer wrote that she was disappointed none of her friends donated sanitary towels for a charity event her model daughter organized but are “spending thousands for makeup and alcohol.”

“People can't even donate sanitary towels for 60 bob to a girl child and we be making hair for 10k and lashes for 8k and alcohol for 100k and you busy reminding me if I ever do charity,” she lamented.

Akothee was shocked that people as far as the diaspora were sending in their contribution but close friends have not even bothered to answer her message.

She however remained optimistic that her fans will donate and make sure the show was a success.

“Wait and see my fans come at large, I actually regret having sent them the message , I would have just asked fans to come and help us support girl child with sanitary towels on the 24th in Nyalenda kisumu ! This ni**s ain't loyal. I have fans who are supporting charity events all the way from diaspora wait and see.” She said.

Rue Baby has a show slated for November 24 in Kisumu and is set to mentor and support young girls from poor background.
