Politician pays Sh6 million for land worth Sh2 million

Where did the politician reap a windfall from?

Where did a politician who has been hogging the news headlines reap a windfall from?

This is the question residents of the village the leader hails from are asking themselves after the politician splashed millions of shillings to buy land.

The Grapevine learned that the outspoken former lawmaker paid Sh6 million for the land, despite the seller at first demanding Sh2 million.

It is not clear what the new owner plans to do on the property, but it definitely must be something that will assist in recouping such a huge investment.

In other news, an MP who has been in the eye of one drama after another has landed in yet more jot soup because of an alleged extortion scandal involving millions of shillings.

The lawmaker reportedly coned a nominee to a state job Sh10 million, promising to rally fellow legislators to approve the nomination.

The money, the MP said, was to be shared out among influential members, who however rejected the nomination even as it emerged that the money was never shared out.

The MP has since gone underground as the victim searches high and low,  no doubts in hopes of recovering at least part of the money.
