Just days after inmates at the Industrial Area Remand Prison went on a hunger strike in protest over ill treatment by prison authorities, former convict turned radio presenter King Kafu, says he will be visiting the remand prison tomorrow for a good cause.
Under his initiative Mfungwa ni binadamu (inmates are human), the presenter will visit the remand prison where he served time to donate foodstuff and toiletries as well as give the inmates a message of hope.
“It’s important to keep high the hope that they still have another positive life after prison, away from crime. Most of them have been neglected by their families and friends and hence could easily slip back into crime,” he told Pulse.
Through his foundation, the presenter has vowed to visit prisons all over the country.
