Robbers break into church, steal holy water, bibles

Faithful at Emakuche Church of God in Kakamega County are still a startled lot after they woke up to an odd case of robbery at their prayer centre.

Goons broke in the house of God and, of all the things, stole ‘holy water’ used for blessing parishioners, Bibles and the pastor’s special seat.

Led by Lucia Omusula, the faithful are calling upon parents and relatives of those involved in the theft to ask them to return anything they stole to avoid spiritual curses.

“We are shocked because since time immemorial anything belonging to church cannot be stolen because this amounts to a curse,” said Lucia, insisting that the culprits are just from around.

This incident comes against the backdrop of yet another robbery at a church in the neighboring Kabras a week ago, where tithe was stolen and two pastors left with injuries. The two are still recuperating at the Kakamega County Hospital.
