Former Nation FM and Kiss 100 presenter Angela Angwenyi’s bank account has been frozen as investigations into the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal continue.

Angwenyi’s account at Housing Finance is among 115 accounts in 14 banks that have been frozen for 90 days.

A court in Nairobi issued the freeze orders on Thursday following an application by the Asset Recovery Agency (ARA).

Angela’s company won the tender to conduct sensitization campaigns targeting women, youth and persons with disabilities, under the Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPRO) program.

In 2015, she appeared before parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), to explain how she convinced the Ministry of Devolution and National Planning to win the tender.

Out of The Box Solutions, which is the company owned by Angela Angwenyi, landed a Shs302 Million contract and as at 2016, when she appeared before PAC, the ministry had so far paid Sh90.7 million.
