Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama’s son dies

The son to Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has passed away at a Nairobi hospital.

Mr Ndemo Nyagarama, 44, died on the evening 11th June while receiving treatment.

According to the deceased’s brother, Mr Momanyi Nyagarama, the late Ndemo had been hospitalised for about two months prior to his death.

"He has been unwell and we are grateful to the Nairobi family for taking care of him. Unfortunately, he has left us," stated Mr Momanyi.

According to close relatives of the deceased, Ndemo Nyagarama had experienced chest pains and difficulty in breathing, resulting from acute meningitis.

"He could not breathe with ease and has been complaining of chest pains. The situation was not good at all. Let him rest in peace," a family member who requested for anonymity told a local news site.

Following his demise, the governor’s Orange Democratic Movement party has sent condolences to the family.

“We have received with profound shock the passing on of Ndemo Nyagarama, son to H.E. John Nyagarama, Gvn. Nyamira County this evening at the Nairobi Hospital due to acute meningitis. The ODM family condoles with the family of Hon. Nyagarama and prays for God’s peace during this time,” the statement by ODM read.

For close to two months, Governor Nyagarama has been in the USA on what county officials termed as an official tour.

His deputy, Mr Amos Nyaribo has been heading the devolved unit in his absence.
