A controversial MP left a trader in Kakamega County with a sour taste in her mouth over the weekend.

This was after the lawmaker, who is known for more bad reasons than good, stormed into her hotel and left without buying anything despite spending more than three hours there.

The MP who represents a cosmopolitan constituency, accompanied by tens of hangeron, left his hosts shocked when his aides brought in expensive liquor from the car, which the team proceeded to enjoy.

They also had special bottled water for ‘mheshimiwa,’ never mind that there is a clear notice that prohibits patrons from bringing in drinks from outside!

A governor is whispered to be a man under siege after two legislators from the region joined hands with some county executives to criticise him over corruption.

The leaders claim that the county chief, who is serving his second term in office, is being held hostage by a corruption cartel.

So far, more than Sh1 billion cannot be accounted for in the county executive and county assembly, a matter that has attracted the attention of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission sleuths.

It will be interesting to see how things turn out.
