NTV anchor Larry Madowo has terminated his contract following a clash with his bosses. Madowo took to Twitter to announce that he has terminated his contract with the Daily Nation.
He states that he had terminated his contract to write for one of the columns in the paper last week Thursday.
Friday 9th, Madowo took on his employers after his opinion piece that runs in the #FrontRow column was not published.
Expressing his dissatisfaction with the move, Madowo lamented that it was the first time in nearly four years that the local daily declined to publish his article. He went ahead and shared a link to the same story after the CNN took it up.
The #FrontRow column was allegedly discontinued after Madowo confronted his bosses for threatening to do away with the it when he wrote an opinion piece critical of the leadership style of Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.
In his piece published by CNN, Madowo talks about the crackdown on media houses and the intimidation of journalists in the country.
The timing of the article was coincidental with the period the government shut down TV stations including KTN News, Citizen TV and NTV for defying a government order not to cover the NASA live event of swearing-in Raila Odinga.
In his post announcing his move, Madowo again shared links to his latest piece published by international media houses CNN and the Washington Post.
