After his picture eating githeri while on the queue on the Election Day went viral, Martin Kamotho has become a national sensation.

He has not only grown popular, the casual labourer at Nairobi County is now a proud land owner in Karen after Ngong Crescent gifted him with a serviced plot worth Ksh269,000.

The parcel of land comes after he was accorded social media recognition during the voting process where he was credited with calming tensions through modified versions of his picture that did rounds on the internet.

The trend went viral and caught the attention of several corporates as well as the Kenyan media fraternity who later looked for him and found him in Kayole where he lives.

Earlier, Mr. Kamotho had also received a fully paid travel package for him and his family to the Maasai Mara.

Kamotho had also received gifts from Safaricom where he was given a Samsung S8+ smartphone valued at sh.100, 000 along with his wife. His only child was not left behind as she also received a Tecno Canon smart phone valued at sh.50, 000.
