Jubilee supporters throng streets as they celebrate Uhuru’s win

  • The Jubilee supporters thronged streets singing and Dancing after IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati declared Uhuru Kenyatta winner of the elections
  • Roads were blocked for some time as motorists were forced to join in the celebrations, there was no lawlessness reported
  • President Uhuru Kenyatta won the elections after getting 54% of the votes cast

 

Jubilee supporters took to streets in various towns across the country to celebrate President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election following the announcement of the election results by IEBC on Friday night. The supporters braved the cold to celebrate the party’s win that they termed as “God Given.”

The singing and dancing began as early as 6pm when Mr Kenyatta was seen on the streets heading to Bomas for the final announcement by IEBC. The provisional results on the IEBC website were showing Jubilee’s presidential with a wide margin over his closest rival.

Business boomed in pubs and hotels as the supporters thronged the joints to follow the events at Bomas as the Chairman announced the results.
