Popular whiskey brand Jack Daniels recently launched a national campaign that seeks to search for a brand ambassador to represent the Jack Daniel’s family of brands.

In a colorful ceremony at a city hotel attended by stakeholders in the entertainment, brewing and sporting industry, Jack Daniel’s brand manager Zara Kuria officially made the announcement bringing opening the contest to participants from the age of 21 years.

“Our aim is to identify a person who will embody the spirit of the brand and its values of authenticity, independence and integrity, to represent the Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands and share knowledge and experiences with the local audience in a personal and engaging way. This search provides a great platform for individuals looking to grow personally, share great experiences and represent one of the leading American whiskey brands globally right here in Kenya,” she said in her speech.

The search for the brand ambassador is currently ongoing with applicants being required to log onto the Jack Daniel’s Facebook page and fill up their details in the provided application form and submit on or before the 28th May 2017.

Together with Jack Daniel’s brand team are celebrated personalities media personality turned actress Eve de Souza and sevens star Humphrey “Tall’ Khayange.

It was an honor to be selected as a judge and even more exciting for the journey to see who will qualify for this very demanding role,” said Khayange.

The ensuing applications will be shortlisted to 100 who will then be required to fill a more detailed questionnaire as well as share a descriptive video about them. “This will help bring out their interpersonal skill as well as their confidence levels which will be crucial during the final tally,” said Eve de Souza.

These will be shortlisted further to 23, denoting the number of shots in a Jack’s bottle. According to the judges, this will be the most intense and vigorous part of the selection process as they grill the contestants together with Jack Daniel’s brand team. Only three will qualify to the last stage where creative, interpersonal and brand knowledge will be tested after which a video posted on the Jack Daniel’s page will be open for the public to vote which accounts for 60 per cent of the final vote with the remaining vote being determined by the judging panel.

The winner will be announced on 4th August, just days before the general elections and will thereafter begin their new role with a trip to the Jack Daniel’s distillery in Tennessee, USA, taking part in an extensive training programme before heading back to Kenya to share what they’ve learned with everyone back home and promote the American whiskey culture amongst whiskey drinkers and those just beginning to enjoy whiskey.

“I urge contestants to keep it real. Be yourself and you may just impress all of us,” said Eve while Tall sent a message of responsible drinking.

The campaign is dubbed ‘Gentlemen Wanted’, and targets a gentleman or lady who exudes boldness, charisma and is sociable, which is in line with the attributes of the brand.
