Sauti Sol are very much known to cross borders and create magic with musical giants from other countries. This time they have teamed up with Bebe Cool of Uganda, coming up with a groovy number. “Mbozi la Malwa,” which is the name of the song, is Luganda for conversations that usually take place when friends are having a drink at their local joint.
On the main inspiration of the song, Bebe Cool says, ‘In many African Communities if you want to know the latest gossip in around the communities, visit a local bar or high end bar with friends for a drink and all talk will rotate around what is making news in the community.’ This is very true for even Kenyans, that the watering holes have the juiciest of chatter.
‘We had an amazing time working with Bebe Cool. Our East African fans have been requesting for this and we hope they will love it as we do’ said Sauti Sol. In addition, they have launched an online dance contest between Kenyan and Ugandan girls. The winner who will be announced on the 26th of April by Bebe Cool will walk away with $500, hang out with either Sauti Sol or Bebe Cool and the Best Dancer in East Africa title.
