Donald Trump’s sworn enemy Senator John McCain has admitted handing the FBI a dossier which claimed the President-elect ordered Russian prostitutes to perform a lewd act.

The Arizona senator issued a public statement saying he had passed on the document to federal agents despite it being riddled with errors and unverifiable claims.

“Late last year, I received sensitive information that has since been made public,” he said.

‘“On examination of the contents, and unable to make a judgment about their accuracy, I delivered the information to the Director of the FBI.

“That has been the extent of my contact with the FBI or any other government agency regarding this issue.”

The two men have been involved in a bitter feud since July 2015 after Trump disrespectfully said McCain was “not a war hero”.

Of the decorated Vietnam veteran he said: “He’s a war hero because he was captured? I like people who weren’t captured.”

In October McCain, who was awarded the Silver Star, the Purple Heart and the Legion of Merit for his military service, publicly said he refused to support Trump in the election.

He withdrew his endorsements for his party’s nominee after audio of the reality TV star was leaked including the phrase ‘grab her by the p****’.
