Benachi and late Kaberere

Gone, but not forgotten, gospel singer Kaberere left a great legacy in the Kenyan gospel scene, with mentees like Benachi to carry forward the work he had started.

‘Mwanake’ ,a collaboration between Benachi and the late Kaberere was one of the biggest songs in 2014 that went ahead to top charts in Kenya and Africa as a whole.

Unfortunately, Kaberere did not live long enough to enjoy the success of their song as he passed on just a few months after the release.

In what seems like a move to remember a fallen brother, Benachi recently took to social media where he shared emotional photo of him together with Kaberere saying, ”Missing Kabz so much.”

Perhaps it’s the fear of conquering new musical markets or the solitude of having to do his music without a mentor to look up to, but despite it all, Benachi promised to release his new song 'Tulia' soon.

Kaberere passed on after being electrocuted and left behind a lovely wife, Njesh wa Qabbz and two children.
