Kenyan writer Binyavanga Wainana, the man of controversies is at it again. In a series of photos posted on his social media page he has shown off his new style.

Moving away from his girly skirts that was talk of the town, the fourty four year old this time was in a white dress which he seemingly posed with everyone he met with during event.  He had a hat on, that he said was designed in twenty four hours.

The controversial writer was attending a fundraiser in New York on Friday in support of gay rights in Africa.

He took pictures with celebrities including American singer Janelle Monae.

He said: Okay, this one I have 2 show off. Still tingling. She said, "really proud of the work u have done." And i said something that sounded like small pig squealing.

However, of the many photos of the night, one of them generated conversations online: He posed with skimpily dressed man. On the caption it reads:

So. This is what I wore last night. Dress designed by Siphokazi Dana, Singer Simphiwe Dana's younger sister. Hat donated and paid for by the most lovely Frankie Edozien. Hat Designed in less than 24 hours! Beard trimmed by my scissors. Make-up done by the incredible Donica. The hot sexy man standing next to me is dancer DeJayé Joseph who danced last night. Africa's Out!

In 2014, Binyavanga came out publicly as gay causing a stir in the country over sexuality. He was named by Time magazine as one of 100 most influential people in the world in the same year.

Kenyan is yet to take bold steps in approaching the sexuality issue. In fact few weeks ago, the Kenyan High Court was condemned by local organizations and politicians for allowing registration of gay lobby group.
