WCW: Sarah Hassan - Quiet beauty and elegance

Sarah Hassan

By Sheila Kimani (@sheilakimm)

Since her debut on the local high school show Tahidi High, Sarah Hassan a.k.a Tanya has warmed her way into many people’s hearts. Her character, calm and collected, saw her become a reknown actress earning her roles on other television shows.

Sarah Hassan was born on 5th September 1988 and raised in Mombasa by her parents Lucian and Hassan. The only child in their family, she was raised to work hard and be the best she could, evidently the lessons seem to be paying off owing to the many roles she plays on television.

For her education, she attended Machakos Girls High School for her O-levels, during which she won the Miss Mac Gee title, as well as other leadership roles. For her University education, she joined  Jomo Kenyatta University Of Agriculture and Technology, and pursued a Bachelors of Science in Actuarial Science.

It was during that time that her interest in arts saw her scoop her first roles in acting at the Tahidi high local series. Other of her roles included Saints as ‘Lora’, ‘Kamila’ in Demigods, and as ‘Liza’ in M-Net’s ‘Changes’. A diversification in her roles saw her become a television presenter which she often doubles up with her acting roles.

Besides acting, she is a fashionista having become a brand ambassador to several local fashion lines.

Despite many prodding and inquiring about her love life, she has managed to keep her private life as such. Having done so much at an early age, Sarah is a role model to many young ladies, and it is on that note that she is our WCW today.
